The Architect's Project
"Years ago, most large city buildings were built out of stone and steel, but today, many are built with glass. Frank Gehry, who also designed the Guggenheim Museum in New York City, just recently finished a very modern glass building on West 18th St. in the Chelsea section of New York for the American Institute of Architecture" (Glassco and Fosnot, pg. 16)
Big Idea: |
In this unit, you are going to be architects. Our firm is designing glass buildings with flat wooden roofs for sundecks. Since there will be a lo of math, physics, and art in our plans, we will start our design work by making models of our ideas (Glassco & Fosnot, pg. 16)
