Building Models
Day One & Two: Build a model of a rectangular prism glass building.
Constraints:
- distance around the footprint is standardized at 36 units (perimeter of the building)
- height of the building standardized at 24 units
- ignore any railings or beams when completing the math behind the area of your glass tiles and wooden sundeck
Include:
- glass tiles to design the building's walls
- wooden roof for sundeck area
- concrete floor
To be able to compare building expenses and value, you will need to
Calculate:
- total area to be glasses
- area of each sundeck (as long as the perimeter is 36 units)
- how much space is inside the building
Please note:
Your work should be neatly organized and include:
- your blueprint (nets and measurements)
- 3D model of your building
- calculations for area covered in glass, area of wooden sundeck, and space inside of the building.
